For the Fans. Achieving World-Class Experiences through Stadium Design and Place-making.
In April 2019, Venues NSW opened Australia's newest and steepest stadium - Bankwest Stadium in Parramatta - delivering world class sporting and entertainment events and experiences. This 30,000-seat rectangular stadium was built with the fan experience in mind, while respecting and preserving its historically and culturally significant parkland setting.
Local, national and international visitors experience events closer to the action and enjoy the best sight-lines in Australia. Designed to be universally accessible, welcoming and inclusive, the stadium also features first class facilities for male and female athletes and entertainers.
Beyond the stadium itself, Venues NSW's planning focused on creating a precinct that caters for the diversity of Western Sydney and brings the community together. The public domain around the stadium has been activated to include open space, gardens, an urban jungle and pedestrian and cycleway connections that encourage community and commercial use on both event and non-event days.
