Construction of Inclusive Sports Amenities Buildings

Developing new sporting amenities buildings in local parks and sportsgrounds has become an integral part of increasing participation in sport at a local and regional level. Since 2016, Georges River Council has invested over $10 million into the construction of new Inclusive Sports Amenities Buildings across the Local Government Area.

Partnering with St George Football Association, Georges River Council has developed over 20 sports amenities building types that address key sporting code design requirements including Football NSW, Football Federation Australia, Cricket Australia, Cricket NSW, Rugby League, AFL and local sporting associations and community groups

The presentation focuses on how Local Council can construct new inclusive sports amenities buildings by identifying key sites that integrate a number of sports and cater for all sporting codes. It will also identify how you can partner with key stakeholders to provide the best outcomes for the community.
