Sportsfield Condition & Usage for Sustainable Asset Management

Sportsfields are a vital part of a community and need to be managed appropriately. They are costly to develop and will quickly become degraded and unsafe if overused or inadequately maintained. On-going management of usage is critical as concentrated and excessive use, especially during winter, can result in significant damage to turf cover and surface evenness. Equally important is the provision of sufficient maintenance inputs to allow the turf surface to cope with and repair from the damage caused by player wear.

STRI Group have developed a bespoke online portal which allows sports turf performance & condition data from multiple sources (e.g. hardness, cover, health etc.) to be collated, viewed remotely and analysed. The online portal collates common management information of a sports surface and links this to its quality. This includes pitch usage models, management practices, and inputs to the surface.
