A/Director - State Facilities, Major Projects and Camps, Sport and Recreation Victoria
Luke Mason is the Acting Director of State Facilities, Major Projects and Camps within Sport and Recreation Victoria, where he has worked for eight years in both major infrastructure and community program roles.
Ryan Czarnecki is the Group Manager, Priority Projects at Sport and Recreation Victoria and has held previous roles as Project Director leading the delivery of the Victorian Cricket and Community Centre and as Team Leader of Recreation Planning at the City of Casey.
Victorian Major Sport Infrastructure - A Metropolitan and Regional response
Luke and Ryan will present on the current and future needs relating to major sporting infrastructure in Victoria. Melbourne is widely considered the sporting capital of the world and has an enviable list of annual major events including, the Australian Open, AFL Grand Final and Formula One Grand Prix.
Luke and Ryan will provide a State Government metropolitan and regional infrastructure response to Victoria's 44 existing State Facilities and 34 professional teams playing in either national or international competitions. Projects such as, the $1b Melbourne Park Redevelopment, the $225m investment into Marvel Stadium and the ongoing redevelopment of Kardinia Park will be discussed.
The presentation will also detail the collaborative relationship Sport and Recreation Victoria has with four sporting Trusts that manage a number of the key sporting facilities in Victoria.
