Designing for People - Wellington Square Masterplan
As urbanisation increases many cities are struggling to maintain a healthy environment and a high quality of life for citizens both in terms of access to open space and meeting challenges associated with climate change, including rising city temperatures and heatwave events.
A healthy, resilient and sustainable city can deliver a range of social, economic and environmental benefits which can help address these challenges.
The City of Perth's Wellington Square Masterplan 2018 is a high-level plan, incorporating key strategic considerations intended to guide the staged enhancement of the park. The plan will ensure that Wellington Square transitions from a 19th Century landscape into a contemporary city park that supports a growing residential population in East Perth.
The presentation will discuss the development of the Wellington Square Masterplan and how its 'people first' design approach has shaped the plan.
